Yoga Teacher

Having lived in the Richmond Hill area for over two decades, I feel a strong sense of community and belonging here. I am compelled to make meaningful contributions back to my community through volunteer work and activism. I am also passionate about lifelong learning, and committed to remaining open to new thoughts, ideas, and experiences, endeavouring to continue to grow in all aspects of my life – mind, body, and spirit. This commitment led me to yoga.

Health and fitness have always been a passion of mine. As a mother of three, it is important for me to be active, stay fit, and maintain a healthy lifestyle for myself, my family, and my community. Although yoga is a system of health and wellness, I initially began practicing yoga for its physical benefits. Over time, my practice has given me a deeper sense of calm and a greater awareness of self. Yoga has taught me to be more mindful, patient, accepting and open. I apply the same ideals learned through my practice to relationships and endeavours in my personal and professional life. The underlying belief in peace and love are at the very core of my being, and form the foundation on which I can build my character.

My classes focus on both inner and outer strength, balance, flexibility, stamina, and alignment, allowing students to cultivate an inner awareness that connects mind, body, and breath together for maximum benefit. I encourage students to practice with an open heart and an open mind, and always with the reminder to honour their bodies and acknowledge their authentic selves. Together, we will grow.
