Amanda Eskenasi HohmannOwner/Studio Director
Amanda came to yoga over two decades ago, and it has been an important part of her life ever since. She worked for over a decade as a doula and childbirth educator, and frequently brought yoga into her work with mothers and new babies. During that time, Amanda also managed yoga studios in Northern Ontario and here in the GTA.
As a yoga teacher, Amanda now brings her background as a post-secondary professor and PhD candidate to her mat, utilizing research and evidence-based science to guide her students through a transformative and enriching whole-body practice. Preferring to teach foundational courses, Amanda has a deep commitment to the idea that yoga is for everyone and every body. Making yoga accessible, removing barriers to health, and helping to connect people to the healing powers of the natural world is her life’s mission.
Along with her yoga practice, Amanda is the mother of 5 children, two with special needs. Parenting a child with autism has deeply impacted her practice, and the recent cancer diagnosis of her youngest daughter has provided even more lessons about the critical importance of whole-body/mind health.
